Meet the team!

As part of the expanding global team here is one of our newest members of Parallel. Welcome Simon Bell…

I started working at Parallel on the 1^st December, having been in the produce industry for 5 ½ years and working in fruit the whole time. I started my career with Worldwide Fruit Ltd as a Trainee Technical Administrator and most recently was an implant at M&S Head Office in a commercial role. During the 5 ½ years I have developed knowledge of products such as Apples, Pears, Avocados, Soft & Stone Fruits. I am keen to learn more about grapes with Parallel UK and add that to my product knowledge.

I hold the role as Technical Development Manager and I am keen to make a difference with our key customers, specifically on packaging and sustainability! Plastic reduction is a priority of mine and something which I am extremely passionate about. I am also looking forward to forging strong relationships with our supplier partners on both Grapes and Melons, creating a quality service for our customers and developing the categories for the greater good of the consumer.

Outside of work I am a Semi- Professional Football Referee so my Saturdays are taken over by football. Other than that I like to go to the gym, and enjoy good food and wine. My biggest achievement to date was refereeing an International football match, England v Turkey on the Wembley Replica pitch at the England Training ground, St Georges Park.
